Safeguarding Heritage Collections, Living Traditions and Practices in the face of Disasters, Extreme Weather Events and Complex Emergencies marks Track 01 of READY – Resilience for Heritage in the Face of Disasters, Climate Risks, and Complex Emergencies, conceived by ICCROM’s flagship programme FAR, in partnership with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe Programme.
The first edition of READY is aimed at strengthening capacities to protect movable and intangible heritage from extreme risks, including climate change-driven disasters and armed conflicts.

The course consists of four key phases:
Phase 1: Online Orientation and Introduction of Key Concepts
Dates: Half Days from Mon-Thursday (16-20hours) – Between May 15 and June 30, 2025
Phase 2: Three-Week In-Person Workshop on Moveable and Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Dates: July 15, 2025 (exact dates will be given upon selection)
Location: Riga, Latvia
Phase 3: Follow-up Field Projects Implemented by Participants. The resources for implementing field projects will be supported by participants’ institutions.
Dates: August 2025 – February 2026
Phase 4: International Online Meeting for Dissemination of Field Project Outcomes
Dates: To be decided upon completion of the follow-up field projects.
